Dynamics 365 Business Central has undergone 22 version updates from when it started as Navision up to its latest release this year. Without quality-of-life (QoL) updates or support, the software will be obsolete on January 11, 2028. This is the main reason why companies should migrate.

Licenses in Business Central are only issued on a “named user” basis, i.e. each user requires their own user license. There are three license types: Essential (CHF 62.70), Premium (CHF 89.60) and Team Member (CHF 7.20), which includes Azure hosting and therefore no additional hosting fees are incurred.
The total migration costs vary greatly and can range from CHF 10,000 to over CHF 150,000.
